Atlanta (December 12, 1995) - IQ Software (NASDAQ: IQSW), a leading supplier of client/server data access tools, today announced a strategic alliance with Data General to provide critical data access, analysis, and reporting tools as components of Data General's Business Warehouse Program.

As a result of this agreement, IQ Software's product suite for business intelligence solutions will support Data General's AViiON-based data warehouses. Under the program, IQ Software's recently released IQ/Objects product suite, including its new IQ SmartServer, which implements three-tier architecture for data access, will be integrated with Data General's data warehousing offerings. This announcement complements IQ Software products' current support of all major databases that use Data General's server and open systems solutions including Oracle, Informix and Sybase. IQ Software and Data General also will work together on several marketing and sales programs.

IQ Software announced the availability of the IQ/Objects family of data access solutions on September 12. IQ SmartServer, released earlier this year, utilizes an advanced three-tier architecture to partition various data access and reporting functions between clients and servers, which is critical to deploy and manage medium- to large-scale installations.
